PDF stands for Portable Document Format, a format for displaying documents in an electronic format that is independent of the software, hardware, or operating system on which they are viewed. Originally developed by Adobe® Systems as a universally compatible file format based on PostScript, Portable Document Format has become a de facto international standard for exchanging documents and information.
